Dear Sands Montessori Families,

The new school is amazingly beautiful and of course having central air conditioning has made a huge difference for all of us. With the weather continuing to be so warm, having central air has made such an improvement with quantity of work, completion of work, and peacefulness throughout the building. Our “friends” are doing an amazing job with routines and following our number 1 rule of WORK!

I continue to “tweak” routines and traffic patterns. Thanks for your patience and flexibility. Here are some more school updates and requests:

1. I have requested additional sidewalks and crosswalks for our school property. I have not heard yet if the funding is available but will update you in the future.
2. If you are a car pick up family and arrive here earlier than dismissal I need to ask that you turn your car engines off. We are a “green” school and low car emissions is important to our school environment.
3. If you are a car drop off family, please place your child’s car seat on the passenger side of the back seat. That way all children are exiting their cars on the safe side of car drop off.
4. Cars need to allow the crosswalks on our school property to remain open for pedestrians to use. This is needed during all times even during our morning and evening car routines.
5. I need to ask again that you do not park your car in the neighborhood and walk to get your children from car pick up. This causes problems for the adults working car pick up and it is causing neighborhood concerns.
6. Good News, the playground equipment is now ready for the students to use and they are having great fun with the swings!
7. The courtyards are in use for classes as well as the science lab!
